Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce titled molding by immobilizing iodine within an absorbed iodine-containing organic polymer molding by heat-treating the molding.
CONSTITUTION: Iodine is absorbed on an organic polymer moldig having such an iodine absorbing capacity that the organic polymer molding, when allowed to abosrb 1wt% iodine and heat-treated for 30min at 100°C in a closed vessel, has iodine remaining, and when the iodine-containing molding is immersed in an aqueous sodium thiosulfate solution(10g/l) at 20°C for 1hr, the iodine is not completely removed, e.g., molding of a polyacrylonitrile resin, and the iodine-containing molding is heat- treated in a closed vessel at 60°C or higher for several sec W several tens min to immobilize about 0.001W0.01wt% of iodine within the molding.
