Then the diameter of a reel hub is set at a value by which the maximum equivalent moment becomes minimum for a driving device consisting of the motors 3 and 5. This minimum value can be obtained in accordance with the motor or the magnetic tape which is used. In such way of deciding the hub diameter of the reel, the rise time can be reduced for the travelling of the tape 1. At the same time, the necessary torque of a motor is reduced to reduce the power consumption.
