Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the material from generating cracks, elongations and deformations in the drawn parts, by making a breakage besides the product part by means of a projected part in either of a die or a punch and a hollow part in another.
CONSTITUTION: A hollow part 14 is bored in a die 5, and a control plate 16 composed of an elastomer via an elastic spring 15 of a prescribed modulas of elasticity is fitted inside of the hollow part 14, and a projecting part 17 is provided in a punch 6 in the corresponding position of the hollow part 14. Then a work piece 10 is brought in and set on the die 5, and the work piece 10 is clamped via an upper blank holder 12. When the punch 6 is lowered to commence the drawing, the bending of the work piece 10 starts at its severe drawing position 7. The work piece 10 is brought to contact with the control plate 16 by the cooperative motion of the projecting part 17 and the hollow part 14, and the timing of breakage is controlled by means of the resisting force of the elastic spring 15. The work piece 10 breaks in the hollow part 14 as it goes beyond the breaking limit by the preset timing, to flow the material of the work piece toward the drawing part 7 thus preventing cracks, elongations and deformations.
