PURPOSE:To enable thinning of a glass part, by a method wherein a vertical outer wall, having the same shape as that of an outer periphery of a glass is mounted at a drum, and a glass edge is pressed in for engaging through the medium of a packing. CONSTITUTION:An outer periphery of a glass 61 is formed in the same shape as that of a vertical outer wall of a drum 63, and a plastic packing 67 is set at the outer periphery thereof. A glass edge 62 is pressed in by means of the outer periphery and a tightening margin to securely fit together the glass 61, the glass edge 62, and the drum 63. A projection 61a is provided on the glass edge to hook the plastic packing 67 thereon, and this increases the securing strength of the glass 61.
