Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition resistant to the generation of crack, by adding an inorganic material or an organic compound having lamellar shape, etc. as an agent for reducing the internal stress, to a paint composed of a specific organic tin-containing copolymer as a vehicle and a specific amount of cuprous oxide as an anti-fouling agent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared by compounding (A) a paint composed of (a) a vehicle consisting of a copolymer having (i) an organic tin-containing recurring unit of formula (R is 1W8C alkyl, cycloalkyl, or phenyl; X and Y are H or methyl) and (ii) a monomer recurring unit such as acrylic compound, a vinyl compound having a functional group, etc. and (b) 1W5pts.wt., based on 1pt.wt. of (A), of cuprous oxide as an anti-fouling agent, with (B) 1W 30wt% of a lammelar, columnar or acicular inorganic material (pref. mica, flaky iron oxide, etc.) and/or organic compound (pref. a triphenyl tin compound effective as a disinfectant) which is insoluble or hardly soluble in the paint, as an agent for reducing the internal stress.
