Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower the load acted to the bearings of a rotary compressor, by cancelling the reaction force due to compression of gas through employment of a two- vane, cam type compressor mechanism in which the suction and compression strokes take place simultaneously in two chambers separated by vanes and a cam.
CONSTITUTION: A cam 22 is shaped to have substantially elliptic form which is symmetric with respect to the axis of a turning shaft 21. Compression and suction strokes are caused symultaneously in the two chambers of a cylinder 23 which are divided by vanes 24 and the elliptic cam 22, so that the reaction force due to compression of gas acted to the bearings for the turning shaft 21 can be cancelled at any angular position of the cam 22. Therefore, a lower bearing 25 can be made in a flat form since it is required only to have a thrust load supporting and sliding function.
