Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a titled cooler which mixes gas and air under the same low back-pressure conditions of all spray nozzles, improves atomization characteristics and can uniformly cool an ingot by providing restriction parts to liquid refrigerant supply lines connecting to the gas-liquid mixture of a gas-liquid cooler for continuous casting.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid refrigerant system for each gas-water spray nozzle 11 is constituted by connecting a cooling water control main pipe 2 interposed with a flow rate meter a1, a flow rate control valve b1 and a shutoff valve C1, a cooling water intermediate header pipe 6, branch pipes 3 interposed with restricting parts 7, nozzle precooling water head pipes 8, and cooling water supply end pipes 9 successively to a cooling water main pipe 1. The end pipes 9 are connected to pipes 10 for mixing with air. On the other hand, the gas refrigerant system is constituted by connecting a pneumatic control main pipe 12 interposed with a pneumatic flow rate meter a2 and a pneumatic flow rate control valve b2, a pneumatic intermediate header pipe 16, branch pipes 13 and pneumatic supply end pipes 19 successively to a compressed air main pipe 21. Despite the dropping of the back pressure of the spray nozzles by decreasing the water flow from the main pipe 2 in the above-mentioned constitution, high back-pressures are generated on the upper stream A side by the partition plates 25 provided to the respective branch pipes 3, and the cooling water of uniform flow rates can be supplied to the pipes 8 connecting to the down stream side. 21 denotes a mold.
