PURPOSE:To compensate a difference of transmission factors of an optical separator, by increasing or decreasing one element output, in a focusing detector by which separated luminous fluxes are made incident to photoelectric elements placed before and behind the film transmission surface. CONSTITUTION:A luminous flux E which has been led by a submirror is separted into 2 luminous fluxes by an optical separator 16, and is made incident to a phtoelectric element string SA (rear) and SR (front) placed before and behind by an equal distance from the film transmission surface. In this case, an output difference between the transmission light intensity gammaaE of a half mirror 16a, and the light intensity gammabE reflected by said mirror and a mirror 16b is compensated by a compensating circuit.
