PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a mechanism of a lens barrel, by placing an external force absorbing means between a move controlling cam member and a guide member in the optical axis direction of a focusing optical system of a lens barrel. CONSTITUTION:A fixed lens G4, a rotary shutter 2b and a base plate 3 are provided on a base mount 1 connected to a camera body, and a fixed barrel 4 into which a cam cylinder 5 has been fitted is coupled with the base plate 3. Pins 6a, 7a which have been provided on holding frames 6, 7, respectively, of a variable multiplying optical system G2 and a correcting optical system G3 are fitted into cam grooves 5a, 5b of the cam cylinder, and the cam cylinder is turned by an operating lever 20. A pin 10a provided on a holding frame 10 of a focusing lens optical system G1 is inserted into a hole 4a of a fixed frame 4, a pin 10b is inserted so as to contact with through an external force absorbing spring 17, into a hole 16a in a relay shaft 16 moving through a spring 18 against a base plate 8, and the relay shaft 16 moves through a cam member 14 which is interlocked with an operating knob 12.
