In case of connection, a notch is made in the axial direction or in the circumferential direction to the covering 5, the covering 5 is peeled off, and after that, the mold release agent 4 is wiped off by use of a solvent, and the optical fiber is exposed. Instead of executing the covering 5, it will also do to store the fiber 3 or 6 in a thin tube made of metal or plastic.
