Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily remove the covering in case of connection, by applying a mold release agent on the surface of a compound optical fiber to which a lot of optical fibers have been made to adhere, and after that, executing the primary covering or storing the opeical fiber in a thin tube. CONSTITUTION:A lot of optical fibers (3 pieces in the figure) are arrayed linearly or triangularly, etc., a mold release agent 4 is applied on the surface of a compound opeical fiber 3 or 6 which has been made to adhere to each other, and the primary covering 5 is executed to its circumference. In case of connection, a notch is made in the axial direction or in the circumferential direction to the covering 5, the covering 5 is peeled off, and after that, the mold release agent 4 is wiped off by use of a solvent, and the optical fiber is exposed. Instead of executing the covering 5, it will also do to store the fiber 3 or 6 in a thin tube made of metal or plastic.
