Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the mounting of an indicating mechanism to an upper case and to promote the automation of assembly work, by a method wherein a pair of retaining members, which are positioned with the indicating mechanism in a gas meter between, are monolithically mounted in a counter case in a manner to be bound at both sides of the counter case. CONSTITUTION:An indicating part 20 consists of a counter case 22, a pair of retaining members 24, 24' which are housed in the counter case, and an indicating mechanism 26 which is assembled into the retaining members. The indicating mechanism 26 provides with a panel 36, a pinion 38, and a numeral wheel 40 positioned between the pinion 38 and the panel 36, and the indicating part 20 is constituted such that the pinion 38 and the numeral wheel 40 are positioned between the nip formed by the retaining members 24 and 24'. A convex part 34 of the retaining members 24 and 24' is then pressed into a channel 28 in the counter case 22 in a state to place the panel 36 over the numeral wheel 40, and this causes binding of the retaining members to complete a monolithical indicating part. This constitution facilitates mounting of the indicating mechanism to an upper case and enables the easy automation of the assembling work.
