Abstract
PURPOSE:To make accurate distance measurement possible by correcting a distance data measured along the optical axis of the taking lens in respect of the angle of the line of orientation of the object with respect to the optical axis by the output of a detecting means. CONSTITUTION:In a framing step ater measuring the distance, when the object is moved to the peripery of the frame, an error in distance of DELTAx is caused to occur in the measured distance x. In most photographing cases, the error DELTAx is negligible, since the error is included within the depth of field, however, in close-up photography, the error DELTAx causes misfocusing. In photographing with the angle of inclination theta of an object from the optical axis, the distance of the object is represented by x.costheta. Accordingly, the error DELTAx is corrected by adjusting the taking lens to a focus position by calculating the value of x.costheta on the basis of the values of x and theta.
