Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the dropping accident of a tundish owing to its inversion by fitting the clamping pawls and pin members provided to the frames of a tundish support base respectively to the support arms and hole parts provided to the tundish. CONSTITUTION:Detaining arms 20 of both side plates 18a of a tundish 18 are detained to the step parts 16a of the detaining grooves 16 of frames 12, 13, and the bottom part is fitted and held between support bars 17. The rods 22 of motor driven cylinders 21 are extended to oppose clamping pawls 25 to the upper parts of the arms 20, and the rods 31a of cylinders 31 are extended to insert pin members 32 into the holes of boss parts 34. Next, a motor 29 is driven to rotate a gear 26, thereby turning a support base 11. The tundish 18 also rotates and the arms 20 abut on the pawls 25, thereby supporting the tundish 18. In this way, the tundish 18 is fixed to the frames 12, 13 by the members 32 and pawls 26 and therefore there is no possibility of dropping of the tundish 18 despite discharging of the broken scraps of internal refractory bricks 19.
