Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the arc time ratio of a welding process by providing a supporting base that can be vertically moved and a rotating device having a gripping device that can be exchanged depending upon the sizes of steel frames, in steel frame welding.
CONSTITUTION: A carriage 11 has four wheels 111, and a side plate 112 having a staircaselike slope, is connected to a rotating device 2 by means of a connecting rod 115, and moves back and forth on a base 5. On the other hand, a supporting base 12 supports the steel frame 4 to be rotated by an U-shaped supporting frame 121, and its wheel 122 runs on the side plate 112 as a track. A guide roller 123 moves vertically on the rail 124 erected and fixed to the base 5. The rotating device 2 consists of a carriage 21 moving on the base 5, a rotating and driving system 22, and a gripping device 23. The device 23 consists of a rotary base plate 232 having four claws 231, a distance piece 234 fixed by a bolt 233, an adjusting plate 236 fixed by a bolt 235 and a wedge 237 pressing the steel frame 4. The distance piece 234 and the adjusting plate 236 are exchanged depending upon the sizes of the steel frames.
