PURPOSE:To eject a cassette securely even in the high-speed running mode, by providing the 1st and 2nd pulse generating means driving a plunger for mode transition when a main switch is in the off state and after a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:When an engine switch S1 is turned on and a cassette-loading responding switch S3 is also turned on, transistors (TR) Q2, Q4, Q3, and Q5 are turned off and when a stop/ejection switch S2 is operated manually at this time, TRs Q6 and Q7 turn on to drive a plunger 2. On the other hand, when the engine key switch S1 is turned off, the plunger 2 is driven as well and if a tape is in fast run mode, a playback mode is set. At this tie, the switch S3 keeps itself in an on state, so the TRs Q2 and Q4 are on to charge a capacitor C1 through a resistance R8; and the TRs Q3 and Q5, and Q6 and Q7 turn on to drive the plunger 2 again. Consequently, a cassette is ejected even in the playback mode.
