Abstract
PURPOSE: An insecticide capable lasting a fixed insecticidal effect for a long time and omitting the labor to scatter it repeatedly, effective for various kinds of fields of insecticide because of its mechanical strength and appearance, obtained by blending naphthalene and a sublimate polar compound with an insecticidal substance.
CONSTITUTION: Naphthalene is mixed with a sublimate polar compound selected from the group consisting of phthalide, dimethyl fumarate, dimethoxybenzene, trioxymethylene, coumarin, benzoic acid, etc. to give a blend, which is melted under heating and mixed with a substance, e.g., p-toluylic acid methyl ester, etc., having properties capable of repelling and controlling noxious insects. The prepared blend is cooled, coagulated, ground, and compression molded to give an insecticide. The amount of the sublimate polar compound used is 0.2W5pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. naphthalene, and the amount of the insecticidal substance used is 0.01W 20pts.wt. based on 100pts.wt. naphthalene.
