Abstract
PURPOSE:To inexpensively form a reflection film of high reflectivity by carrying out gold plating via a nickel plating layer on the specular surface part of a rotary polyhedral mirror consisting basically of aluminum. CONSTITUTION:Electrolytic nickel plating treatment is carried out on the surface of the specular part of an aluminum base body 1 of a rotary polyhedral mirror, and the film thickness is kept at about 50mum. After the surface is subjected to lapping and specular finishing, gold plating treatment of about 0.3mum thickness is carried out, thereby forming a reflection film 3. Thereby, the reflection film 3 having reflectivities as high as 85-90% is formed inexpensively.
