Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a wheel cylinder piston at a low price which can reliably discharge the air sealed in the seal cup to the outside of the cylinder, by forging and cutting. CONSTITUTION:A material A is inserted into the inner hole 31a made in a die 31 of a forging machine and secured. A punch 30 is driven onto the upper end surface of the material and cavities 23 and 24 are formed by cold forging. Then a part of the periphery of the material is cut to a given depth to form an annular groove 22. At the same time, the bottom 24a of the cavity 24 is allowed to communicate with the annular groove 22. Then a holder part 21 is formed at the bottom of the material to complete a piston.
