Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten the time of the warming-up operation of a magnetic device which requires the warming-up operation by sending hot-air from a hot air generator into the device when the disk device is acturated and by stopping the hot-air generator on detecting the temperature of mechanism parts of the device reaching a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:To the magnetic disk assembly 2 of a magnetic disk device requiring warming-up operation, hot-air from a hot-air generator 7 is blown through a primary filter 5, a blower 4 and a secondary filter 6. The internal and external temperatures of the base disk 1 of the magnetic disk device are detected by a base disk temperature detecting element 8 and an external temperature detecting element 9 respectively and inputted to a temperature-difference detecting circuit 10. When the difference between the temperature of the base disk 1 and the external temperature has the best value, the detecting circuit 10 sends the command of stopping the hot-air generator 7 to a hot-air generator control circuit 11. Consequently, the time of warming-up operation is shortened and a position shift of a magnetic head from the track position of the disk right after the actuation of the device due to the difference in temperature among the internal mechanism parts of the device is corrected.
