Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the composition for forming a separating wall between blood corpuscles and blood serum characterized by the fact that viscosity is not changed with the elapse of time when the blood is centrifugally separated, by using the composition which is obtained by mixing a thixotropy imparting agent and two kinds of viscose liquid materials having interaction different from said agent, and has specified specific gravity. CONSTITUTION:The thixotropy imparting agent (component 1) is made of fine grains having an average diameter of 1-100mmu such as silica. The viscous liquid material A (epoxidated linseed oil and the like) has intense intereaction with the component 1 (with the uniform mixture with the component 1, deviation of the distribution of the component does not occur under the specified centrifugal conditions.) The viscous liquid material B does not have intense intereaction with the component 1 but has good compatibility with the component A. The composition having a specific gravity of 1.03-1.08 is prepared at 20 deg.C by blending said three components. Said composition and blood are put in a centrifugal separating tube, and the blood serum or blood plasma is separated. Then the composition forms the separating wall between the blood curpuscle part and the blood plasma and the like, and said serum and plasma can be readily taken out by decantation. The composition is stable on standing, and the generated separating wall is hard to be broken and easy to handle.
