Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce a speed change shock which occurs particularly upon shifting up operation to improve the riding comfort of a car by disposing in a hydraulic circuit of an automatic transmission a pressure reducing valve for reducing the pressure of operating oil moving toward a friction element so as to reduce the speed change shock.
CONSTITUTION: A speed change control circuit of an automatic transmission includes a regulator valve 1, a manual valve 2, shift valves 3W5, a throttle valve 8, modulator valve 10, timing valves 13, 14, and so on, and automatic speed changing operation is carried out by a shifting operation of the shift valves 3W5. This control circuit is provided with a speed change shock reducing device which includes a pressure reducing valve 80 and a change-over valve 81. The pressure reducing valve 80 has a spool 80b slidably accommodated in a housing 80a thereof and is operable to reduce the pressure of operating oil moving toward a friction element in the transmission so as to reduce the speed change shock. The change-over valve 81 is operable to drain the pressure of controlling oil for effecting the pressure reducing operation of the pressure reducing valve 80 to thus stop the pressure reducing operation of the transmission.
