Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote the axial rigidity and obtain the stable revolution at a high speed in a precision spindle device vertically used for recording machinery or the like by improving structures and arranged positions of three dynamic pressure type fluid bearings bearing a rotational shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A spindle device to bear a rotational shaft 1 is constructed by providing the 1stW3rd bearings 2W4 in a housing 5. A bearing 2 is provided with a shaft-side receiving face 21 of a truncated cone shape axially expanded outward and a housing-side receiving face 22 faced thereto with a gap between. The bearing 3 is provided with a shaft-side receiving face 31 of a truncated cone shape expanded oppositely to the above-said receiving face 21 and a housing-side receiving face 32 faced thereto with a gap between, while a bearing 4 is provided with a cylindrical shaft-side receiving face 41 and a housing-side receiving face 42. These receiving faces 21 and 31 are respectively provided with spiral grooves 23 and 33 which are twisted so that directions of pushing forces of lubrication oil may be oppositely faced to each other within the axial direction, while the receiving face 41 with a spiral groove 43 in which the above-said pushing force is directed to the bearing 2.
