Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent producing defect in welding in such a way that when manufacturing speed rings for water wheeld pump water wheel, etc., welding of the main plate with a transient piece, etc. is done in prone posture by detaching the casing and inverting the speed ring.
CONSTITUTION: A speed ring is composed of the main plate 1, a casing 2, a cylindrical ring 3, a transient piece 4, and a stay vane 5. After portions of the casing 2 and the transient piece 4 are incorporatively bent and formed, the opening end is put on the main plate 1, and after provisional welding on the welding portion B, a reinforcement 8 is tightly fixed between the opening end part and the main plate 1. Before regular welding on the welding portion B, the casing 2 is detached at the cutting portion (A), the casing is separated, and the welding portion B is made the regular welding. Then, the cylindrical ring 3 is tightly fixed at the welding C. When welding the welding B, the speed ring is easily capable of inverting, and welding operation of the welding portions B, C can be done in prone posture under optimum conditions.
