Abstract

PURPOSE:To make contact of gas and liquid wide and uniform by feeding gas from the top of a liquid tank down to near its bottom by means of a hollow revolving shaft, mounting a rotator to the bottom end of the revolving shaft, dispersing air bubbles between the bottom surface thereof and the tank bottom and fining the air bubbles by centrifugal forces and revolutions. CONSTITUTION:For example, molten aluminum 4 is put into a liquid tank 1, and a hollow revolving shaft 2 is put perpendicularly into this. A rotator 3 is mounted to the bottom end of said shaft in such a way as to revolve together with the shaft 2. The bottom surface of the rotator 3 maintains a prescribed spacing, for example, 5-100mm. spacings, from the bottom of the tank 1, so that air bubbles air blown out from this clearance. Gaseous argon and nitrogen are fined by the revolutions of the rotator 3 and centrifugal forces and disperse into the molten aluminum 4, which is brought into contact with these by large surface areas on account of the fine bubbles and is thereby thoroughly agitated and mixed. The gaseous hydrogen in the molten aluminum 4 is captured by these and is thus removed.
