Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled ink giving a highly light-resistant, clear, and blotless recorded figure, and forming a colored image having excellent color reproducibility by substractive color process, by dissolving a specific metal complex azo dye and a wetting agent in water.
CONSTITUTION: The objective ink is prepared by dissolving (A) a metal complex azo dye of formula I (Z1 and Z2 are benzene nucleus or naphthalene nucleus-forming atom; n and m are 1W4; n+m is 3W6; M is Cu, Co or Ni; the sulfo group may be an alkali metal salt, ammonium salt or an organic amine salt), pref. the complex dye of formula II (R4 is H, amino, acyl or amino substituted with lower alkyl, etc.; R5 is H or Cl; l is 1 or 2; M is Cu or Ni) and (B) a wetting agent (pref. 2-pyrrolidone or its derivative, a carboxylic acid amide derivative, etc.) in water. The amounts of the components (A) and (B) are 0.5W4pts.wt. and 0.1W30pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the ink.
EFFECT: Excellent ink jet stability.
