Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain a concentricity between a volute chamber and an impeller, eliminate the need of couplings and enable small size and low weight by integrating a pump base into a pump mainframe and by joining a rotary shaft for impeller to a power shaft for engine as one piece.
CONSTITUTION: A base 1 and a pump mainframe 2 are formed into one piece. A power shaft 10 for an engine 5 is integrated to a rotary shaft 8 for an impeller 4. This construction allows the impeller 4 to concentrically rotate, maintaining a sufficiently accurate clearance in a volute chamber 3, and provides a sufficient performance. Therefore, the conventional couplings are no longer required. The pump can be operated without the bearing of the rotary shaft 8 for the impeller 4, which makes it possible to reduce the size and weight as well as production cost and transportation cost, enhancing the operaterbility.
