Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The 9,12-dioxo-trans-10-octadecenoic acid amide dervative of formula I [R is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, furfuryl, (substituted) phenyl, or group of formula -(CH2)n-X (X is group of formula II, formula III, etc.; n is integer 0W3)].
EXAMPLE: N-Isopropyl-9,12-dioxo-trans-10-octadecenamide.
USE: Preventive and remedy for arteriosclerosis, cardiac infarction, etc. It has strong blood platelet coagulation inhibiting activity and carcinostatic activity.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by converting the carboxyl group of the 9,12-dioxo-trans-10-octadecenoic acid of formula IV to a reactive derivative, and reacting the compound with the compound of formula R-NH2 in an inert organic solvent at -5°CWroom temperature.
