Abstract
PURPOSE:To finish the corner parts of a product at a sharp angle, by press-forming with use of a lower die having projections which can be inserted along the side parts of a groove in an upper die in a certain distance apart from the side part. CONSTITUTION:An upper die 11, which is the first die provided with a groove 12 having a profile corresponding to the convexity 17 of a pattern to be formed, and a lower die 13, which includes projections 14 capable of inserting along the side parts of the groove 12 in the upper die 11 in a certain distance apart from the side parts, can be brought closely together by drive means. The upper and lower dies are separated together, and a material 17 to be formed, e.g. a sheet cover or the like comprising a cloth substrate 18 and an urethane foam 19 as an elastic member in one body, is inserted and press-formed. Concave spaces 21 are formed along the corner parts of the groove 12 owing to the projections 14, so that the corners of the convexity of the material to be formed can be shaped sharply.
