Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the propelling performance of a ship, by providing a ring which is located in front or at the rear of the propeller of the ship and has a smaller diameter than the propeller and by providing a plurality of fins on the inside or outside of the ring so that the fins have an incident angle to the flow of water.
CONSTITUTION: A ring 14 with a smaller diameter than a propeller 3 is provided in front of it. Reaction fins 13aW13h are radially provided in a centilever manner on the inside and outside of the ring 14. The length and thickness of the fins 13aW 13h can be decreased to reduce the resistance on them. Since the fins 13aW13h has an incident angle to the flow of water, the fins adapt to the flow of water to improve the propelling performance of a ship.
