Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a large output reproduced signal having a high S/N, by performing erasion by eliminating the polarization by an AC erasion method for recording information obtained by the polarization of a recording medium containing a ferrodielectric layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 1 is formed by providing a ferrodielectric layer 3 of barium titanate, etc. onto a conductive substrate 2 of aluminum, etc. A conductive recording head 4 is relatively shifted toward an arrow mark on the medium 1 with application of a digital information signal 5 to perform a recording by polarization. For the reproduction, an inductor 11 is connected to an electrostatic capacity 10 between the substrate 2 and a reproduction head 6, and then a high- frequency exciting signal 13 is applied to a resonance circuit 12. The output of the circuit 12 is detected via a diode 14, a peak detecting circuit 17 and an amplifier 18, respectively. In the erasion mode, an erasing head 8 having a curved surface applied with an AC voltage 9 is moved on the medium 1. Thus the polarization is erased with the AC voltage having amplitude reducing gradually. In such way, a large output reproduced signal can be obtained with a high S/N.
