Abstract

PURPOSE:To check read data by an external computer connected to a transmitter by providing a receiving function of receiving data, which has been set once, again selectively in addition to a transmitting function for the read data. CONSTITUTION:As an input document is read by a reading mechanism 1, a numbering mechanism 2 prints an initialized sequence number on the document. The read data, on the other hand, is transmitted by a data transmitter 3, but the sequence number printed on the document is added and transmitted together. The thus transmitted data is inputted to a center computer, where required processing such as data matching is performed; and data judged to be an input error is returned to the character reader via the data transmitter 3. The character reader displays the received data on a display 5 to show the occurrence of the input error.
