Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a protective mat for slope, which is capable of exactly preventing the run-off of surface soil by jointing two porous sheets through which the roots or buds of a plant can pass in such a way as to permit the formation of proper number of soil and sand-housing portions between them.
CONSTITUTION: A porous sheet 1a of a synthetic resin, through which the root 6 of a plant can pass, is sewed together with a sheet 1b through which the bud 5 of a plant can pass to form sewed lines 1d of a rhombic shape, for example. And, inlets 1c for soil and sand 4 are provided in nearly central portions of each rhombic section in the sheet 1b to form a large number of soil and sand-housing portions 7 between both sheets 1a and 1b. The mat thus obtained is laid on a slope in large numbers and fixed with a protection material, e.g., pile 2, etc., as needed for keeping each mat from deviation. Afterwards, soil and sand are filled in the soil and sand-housing portions 7 of the mat and then seeds are spread on the mat. Thus, the planting of greens on a slope can be performed.
