Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the constitution small-sized and simple and reduce the production cost, by discriminating coordinates optically by a mechanism common to all points in a two-dimensional coordinate input device. CONSTITUTION:When a pen P1 is moved on a tablet 3 and is stopped and rotary reflectors 10 of scanners 2a and 2b are rotated, lights from respective light emitters 7a are reflected by a reflector 6 of the pen P1 and are received by photodetectors 7b. These lights are reflected by a reference reflector 11 also and are received by photodetectors 7b. Since two scanners 2a and 2b having this constitution are arranged while keeping a predetermined length A between themselves, angles thetaa and thetab of rotation shafts 9 of respective rotary reflectors 10 are detected to recognize the relative position of the pen P1 from the scanner 2a.
