Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct the grinding error automatically by assembling a servo mechanism into a stopper for limiting the feeding position of a grindstone and determining the outer-diameter of the lens, then controlling the position of the stopper on the basis of the diameter of the worked lens. CONSTITUTION:The lens 7 is held by the clamping fixtures 5, 6 while coinciding the optical axis with the clamping fixture axis then rotated through the deceleration transmissions 8, 9. The grindstone base 13 provided rollably on the machine table is energized by a spring toward the lens 7 and fed in accordance to the rotation of the cam 18. A stopper 30 to be advanced/retrieved by a servo motor 38 is provided on a shaft table 4 for supporting the clamping fixture axis 3, and when the stopper 30 and the stopper face 20 will contact the feeding of the grindstone table is stopped to determine the outer-diameter of the lens. The outer-diameter of the grinded lens is measured then the servo motor 38 is controlled on the basis of the working error thus to adjust the position of the stopper.
