Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide easy response to a change of design in the apparatus to be assembled, by installing a head, versatile for different works, in the standard working unit furnished with an elevating table. CONSTITUTION:A carrier 1 is positioned and located on a shift table 32 installed on a traveling table 31. This table 31 is moved under control in the X and Y directions to transport the carrier 1, and the X and Y directional position of the carrier 1 is determined with respect to those four catching heads 44 of the working head 42. An elevating table 41 furnished in the working unit 29 sinks the head 42 to press the bottom 44a of the head 44 elastically on the component 6, which is then adsorbed by this bottom edge 44a. An easy and quick respose is assured to any change of design in the apparatus to be assembled, by mounting different heads 42 separably on the standard unit 29.
