Abstract

PURPOSE:To quickly disconnect a coil on the power supply side in a lamp stabilizer in dielectric deterioration accident by using an insulated wire of a softening temperature characteristic for a coil wire on the power supply side which is lower than that of a coil wire on the opposite side. CONSTITUTION:A mainframe of a lamp stabilizer incorporates a primary coil 2, a secondary coil 3 and an iron core, and the softening temperature of an insulation sheath of a conductor 8 of the coil 2 should be lower than that of a conductor 9 of the coil 3. Coil 2 and coil 3 are connected with the poser supply side and a lamp 10, respectively. When insulation resistance of the insulation sheath of the conductor 8 is downgraded in lighting of the lamp 10, a layer short breaks out within conductor 8 and it leads to breakdown of conductor 8, so that the lamp 10 goes off. Alike, when insulation resistance of the insulation sheath of a conductor 9 is downgraded, a layer short breaks out within conductor 9, and it leads to breakdown of conductor 9, so that lamip 10 goes off. However, when a layer short circuitting breaks out within the conductor 9, the whole stabilizer is overheated by heat created in shorting, so that a layer short circuitting is quickly promoted in coil 2, leading to breakdown of coil 2. Thus, the current flowing through coil 2 is cut off.
