Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the measurement of gears of various sizes, by using either one of a driving gear and a follower gear for a test gear and measuring the distance between the attachment shafts which is caused by the tooth form error of the test gear. CONSTITUTION:A driving shaft 3 which transmits rotary power to a driving gear 18 is supported on a support stand 4 of one side, and a follower shaft 5 which transmits the damping power to a follower gear 27 is supported on a support stand of the other side. A feeding device 7 is attached to this pare of stands 4 and 6 to give them a relative shift. At the same time, a floating stand 13 attached with the shaft 5 and a means 23 which detects the shift extend of the stand 13 are provided on the stand 6. The stand 13 is connected to the stand 6 slidably in the direction where the shaft 3 touches and detouches from the shaft 5 and in a fixable way by means of a fixing means 22.
