Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify mechanisms, and to eliminate the evil influence of an impulsive load during clutch switching upon an image, by driving an optical system by a pulse motor, switching the rotational speeds of the pulse motor, and changes copying modes. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd moving mirrors are driven by a pulse motor 30 through a power transmitting mechanism. The storage device ROM 32 of the control circuit for the motor 30 is stored with data for driving which correspond to various modes, and is connected to a CPU 37, which is applied with a pulse signal from a clock generator 38. When some mode is specified through an input equipment 39, said circuit brings the pulse motor 30 under prescribed control through an energizing phase switching circuit 40. During contraction copying, the speed of an optical system is made higher than a drum speed, and during expansion copying, it is lower. Therefore, the mechanism is simplified and no evil influence of an impulsive load during clutch switching upon an image is exerted.
