Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the problem with bad response owing to insufficient discharge of a pump under the initial period of steering wheel operation, by installing a speed increasing mechanism, having possiblity to make slip or idling during out of operation, interposed between the motor and oil pump. CONSTITUTION:A motor 9 is coupled with the shaft 7 of an oil pump 4 coaxially through a planetary gearing type speed increasing mechanism 10 composed of a planet gear 11A, a sun gear 11B and a ring gear 11C, and this oil pump 4 is driven by the motor 9. IN this speed increasing mechanism 10, the ring gear 11C is put stationary or in idling by a solenoid 13 installed at the housing 9A. The motor 9 is controlled by signals from a control circuit 11 and puts the oil pump 4 is approach running, even while the steering wheel is out of operation, with the aid of the speed increasing mechanism 10, which is oprated by small current flowing through the control circuit 11. This approach running of oil pump 4 will make the rise of oil discharge sharp when the pump is started by the initial action of the steering wheel. Thus a good response is assured.
