Abstract

PURPOSE:To inform a driver of a proper shift position of a speed change gear by computing the proper gear position on the basis of detection of gradient of a road and running speed and displaying to warn it if the car is driven in any improper gear position. CONSTITUTION:Proper gear positions which are predetermined according to conditions of running speed and gradient of a road are sent from a key-board 4 to a set conditions memory and stored therein. Signals from a gradient detecting element 1, a running speed detecting element 2 and a gear position detecting element 3 are fed into a condition memory 5. A comparing and controlling element compares data OMEGA both memories 5, 6 with each other and activates alarm elements 8, 9 or displays 10, 11 when the data are different. A proper gear position may be thereby displayed so that the display is advantageous for unskillful drivers.
