Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the consumption of controlling nitrogen gas from increasing due to the rupture of a plate covering a through-hole under normal condition by a method wherein a bimetal, which closes the through-hole under the condition that cryogenic liquid is not in contact with said bimetal and opens the through-hole under the condition that cryogenic liquid contacts with said bimetal, is provided at the through-hole formed in the main body of the device. CONSTITUTION:The through-hole 10a is bored at the center of the flange-shape main body 10 and a fitting recess 10b is formed concentric to the through hole 10a on the top surface of the main body 10. The bimetal 11 is housed in the fitting recess 10b in such a manner as to cover the through hole 10a and fixed to the bottom surface of the fitting recess 10b by means of a machine screw 12 at its end. Said bimetal 11 is normally in the form of a flat plate and its free end covers the through-hole 10a by seating onto the bottom surface of the fitting recess 10b through adhesives coated over the under surface of the bimetal 11. However, when cryogenic liquefied natural gas comes into contact with the bimetal 11, the binetal 11 warps upward, resulting in opening the through-hole 10a by the exfoliation of adhesives off the bottom surface of the fitting recess 10b.
