By observing the variation of the physical properties, relative movements between the surface of the object 4 and a detector 5 can be detected effectively as moving direction, orientation, distance, etc. Synthetically, setting of several regions individually having detectable physical property on the surface of the object 4 is the sole requirement, and therefore, this system can be realized easily.
