Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a sponge titanium molding wherein hydrogenated titanium vulnerable to powdering by occluding hydrogen is immobilized with a thin film by an improved method by using a metallikon system in order to adhere dissimilar metals to the sponge titanium molding.
CONSTITUTION: Sponge titanium is made to a desired shape, and a dissimilar metal or alloy, for example, Al is melt sprayed by a metallikon system on the surface thereof, and is adhered like a thin film. For example, a thin Al film 1 is melt sprayed on sponge titanium 2 at the Al amt. of the silver white to the extent that the steel gray color of the titanium 2 is slightly shown.
