Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove H2S effectively at high temps. by bringing an H2S-contg. gas into contact with aluminate.
CONSTITUTION: This method uses the aluminate molded and granulated to suitable shapes and sizes. For example, in the case of using calcium alumina cement, the material prepd. by adding water to the powder of said cement to make paste, molding the paste to pellets or spraying water to the pressure molded powder and allowing this to harden in steam then calcining the molding is used. Such aluminate is brought into contact with gaseous H2S at about 600W1,000°C. If this method is utilized for coal gasifying combined power generation systems or the like, it is effective in improving thermal efficiency.
