Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit leakage of light sufficiently from the middle in the longitudinal direction of an optical fiber by sealing air bubbles between a core and a clad thereby forming irregular surfaces at the boundary between the core and the clad. CONSTITUTION:Air bubbles 3 are sealed in betwen a core 1 and a clad 2, and the outside circumferential surface of at least the core 1 is pressed by the bubbles 3 and is deformed to ruggedness, whereby irregular surfaces are formed at the boundary between the core 1 and the clad 2. The light transmitted by such optical fiber is scattered by the irregular surfaces and is leaked surely to the outside.
