Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb the relative displacement between a turbine and a steam condenser under an earthquake or the like, by using coupling members, condenser's expansion joints and intermediate coupling members to conjoin the turbine and the steam condenser to each other and by using support members to conjoin the turbine to the intermediate coupling members. CONSTITUTION:A pair of upper and lower coupling members 3, steam condenser's expansion joints 6a, 6b and an intermediate coupling member 7 are provided between a turbine 1 and a steam condenser 2 to conjoin them to each other. The turbine 1 and the intermediate coupling member 7 are conjoined to each other by supports 9. The expansion joints 6a, 6b can easily absorb the relative displacement between the turbine 1 and the steam condenser 2 under an earthquake to prevent the intermediate coupling member 7 from being broken due to the gravity and keep the steam condenser from being extremely deformed due to the vacuum therein.
