Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure underground displacement efficiently and accurately by burying a pipe under the ground, disposing a tiltmeter in this pipe and calculating the displacements by using the output of this tiltmeter and the extent of movement of the tiltmeter. CONSTITUTION:After a guide pipe 1 is buried, a cord 2 is extended, and a tiltmeter 3 is lowered into the pipe 1. The angle of dip of the pipe 1 at the depth where a reversible motor 5 is stopped is measured with the tiltmeter 3 in the pipe, and the measurement data thereof is fed to a central processing device 14 via the cord 2, a digital voltmeter 7 and a priseral interface adaptor 8. The measurement and operation of the angles of dip at the prescribed depths are accomplished successively at different depths, and the distributions of the level displacement of the ground are obtained.
