Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a homogeneous luminous display by constituting a fluorescent display tube by straining two sets of filament electrodes alternately between two pairs of filament supporters, and operating the said tube by applying a different electric potential to each set of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Two pairs of filament supporters 4a1, 4b1 and 4a2, 4b2 are fixed on an insulating base plate 1 so that they don't conduct with each other. Next, one or a plural number of filament electrodes 3a are strained between the supporters 4a1 and 4b1, and one or a plural number of filament electrodes 3b are strained between the supporters 4a2 and 4b2 so that the electrodes 3a and the electrodes 3b are arranged alternately. After that, a homogeneous luminous display can be obtained by applying different voltages to the electrodes 3a and the electrodes 3b.
