Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to indicate the state of electrolyte level of a battery at driver's seat by a detecting the presence or absence of voltage between a car body electrically contacting with the metal container of a bundle of storage battery cells connected to an electrolyte level detecting electrode and a negative terminal of said bundle of storage battery. CONSTITUTION:One end of the electrolyte level detecting electrode 4, the other end of which is inserted into one storage battery to be measured its electrolyte level 3 in the bundle of storage battery 1 housed in the metal container 2, is connected to the metal container 2. A load 7 is connected through an operating switch 8 between the positive and negative terminals of the bundle of storage battery cells 1. Furthermore, as for the indicating part 6 of electrolyte level detecting device installed at the driver's seat, the terminal (a) is connected to the car body 5, the terminal (b) is connected to the negative terminal of the bundle of storage battery cells 1 and the terminal (c) is connected to the positive terminal of the bundle of storage battery cells 1 and the metal container 2 is electrically contacted by its own weight with the car body 1. Owing to the structure as described above, the state of electrolyte level or the normal or decreased amount of electrolyte in a cell can be indicated at the driver's seat by connecting an indicator lamp (not shown) between the car body 5 and the negative terminal of the bundle of storage battery 1.
