Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a flash discharge lamp giving, when turned on, reduced noises to the surrounding system by arranging a conductive material along the inner wall of a glass tube near the trigger electrode around at least one electrode of an anode and a cathode. CONSTITUTION:A metal film 7 coated with aluminum is formed on the inner wall of a glass tube 1 near an anode 2 (beneath a trigger electrode fixing band 6a). In the figure, a momentary voltage drop is barely noticed around -3KV only, and this explains the fact that the effects of the flash discharge lamp, when turned on, on the surrounding system are reduced remarkably. The conductive material has to be provided along the inner wall of said glass tube around at least one electrode of the anode and the cathode of the flash discharge lamp, and of course it may be provided around both electrodes of the anode and the cathode. Furthermore, different conductive materials or different shapes may also be used for the anode and the cathode independently.
